What to Wear to Senior Portraits |

Finding what to wear in your senior portraits isn’t always easy. There’s a lot to think about, not to mention when you add on all your other deadlines. If you’re interested in learning what to wear to senior pictures, I’ve broken the wardrobe down by formality and style. I hope this makes it a bit easier for you.
Special Uniforms or Jerseys
Firstly, I like to have my senior clients bring a special uniform or jersey that shows their interests to their senior pictures. For example, you could wear a sports uniform such as: football, volleyball, or basketball jersey. On the other hand, you could wear your band, orchestra, or tae kwon-do (martial arts), dance or any other uniform. In the example below, Asia chose to wear her cheerleader uniform since she’s an All-American cheerleader.
College or School Shirts
I know that college isn’t for everyone (trade schools are good too). However, if you are planning on attending a college or university, you can show your school spirit in your senior pictures. Some seniors wear a shirt they got from the school tour. In contrast, you could also bring a school folder or pen.
You could also choose to wear a high school spirit shirt that means something to you. Do you have something in mind already?
Casual Senior Outfits: Jeans, Shorts, and a Nice Top
Casual wear is super popular when you’re not sure what to wear to senior portraits. It’s probably one of the easiest outfits to put together. You could even combine it with college wear if you’re not big on having your pictures taken.
Formal Wear | Tuxedo, Gown / Dress
Lastly, and becoming more popular in recent years, is formal wear. Some seniors, incorporate a sports car with their formals, or choose a location like a studio, city skyline, stadium or gymnasium for these. The photos would be dramatic, so off camera flash would be used. You could even book a photographer for your junior or senior prom and use those photos.
