What is senior photography?
Senior photography is the art of photographing graduating college or high school seniors. It’s a celebratory way of documenting a milestone of graduating and making it to the final year of classes. Senior pictures are more popular for high school seniors, but they’re growing in popularity in universities and colleges as well. Oddly enough, senior pictures were actually my most popular sessions booked during my first couple of years in business.
Why would you get senior pictures taken?
One of the best ways to celebrate your senior year and achievements is through a personalized photo session, also known as “senior pictures’. For a lot of people, senior pictures are some of the only professional photos of themselves. In fact, before I was a photographer, the last time I had professional photos of just myself was when I was graduating high school. Additionally, some high school seniors choose to have some of their senior pictures added to the senior yearbook.

During a senior photography session, senior photographers like myself capture graduating students in their element. Much of what we capture, if not all, is about you! What do you like or dislike? Do you have any hobbies or interests? What college or trade school do you plan on attending? Would you like to include the college or program you’re graduating from? These are just a few ideas to help you get the oil well turning for what is captured during your senior pictures.
