Wedding Photographer Top 10 Moments to Capture
There are some things every wedding photographer is always proud to capture. I love the idea of love and everything about it. It’s a beautiful thing to witness two people commit to spending the rest of their lives together. With that being said, as a wedding photographer, the top 10 moments for me to capture in no particular order, are:

- Groom getting ready
- Parents’ first look
- Special touches of loved ones who live in your hearts
- How parents look at the bride
- The bride walking down the aisle
- Groom’s face as the bride walks down the aisle
- Parents’ reactions as their children take their vows
- First dances
- Bouquet and garter toss
- The Grand Exit
Wedding Photographer Top 10 Moments to Capture: Pre Wedding Photos
I know I’m going to get a lot of flack for this, but there’s so much fun that goes on in the groom’s suite while they’re prepping the big guy for the wedding day. Seeing all of that anxiety pent up really makes for great photos, and as a wedding photographer is a top 10 favorite moment.
Next up, the parent’s first look. Nearly every single parent cries and smiles with their eyes when they see you two for the first time. And I know that for some of us, our loved ones have gone on, but still live in our hearts. This one is so dear to my heart and is a wedding photographer top 10 moment to capture for not only myself, but other wedding photographers I know.
How parents look at the bride kind of adds to the parents’ first look. It’s really hard to explain, but there’s a look that proud parents have when they see you on your wedding day. It’s a sort of twinkle in their eyes. A wee bit of smiling and tears at the same time.

Wedding Photographer Top 10 Moments to Capture: Ceremony Photography
In addition, I do have a few “cliche” wedding photographer top 10 favorite moments to capture. One of which is the bride walking down the aisle. I’m a quirky person, but it’s always fun to see how every bride channels their emotions as they walk down the aisle.
With that being said, the groom’s face as the bride walks down the aisle is right up there as well. I think it deserves to be a separate point because, I sometimes think people forget about the guy standing at the altar already. For instance, I love to switch my second camera over for a split second to capture his attention as she comes down the aisle.
Now, another cliche’ favorite is the parent’s reactions as their children take their vows. It’s sort of like a sigh of relief or “this is it” look!

Wedding Photographer Top 10 Favorite Moments to Capture: Reception Photos
After the ceremony, we move into the first dances. For example, the couples’ first dance is like the first time in front of people you two have to truly enjoy each other after the nuptials. In the same way, parent’s first dances are grouped into this.
The bouquet and garter toss are SO fun! It’s kind of like a barnyard scramble seeing every single lady hustle and bustle for the bouquet. I think the garter toss pictured below has to be a wedding photographer top 10 moment.
Lastly, when it comes to wedding photographer top 10 moments to capture, the grand exit is another clear winner. I’m not sure if it’s the sparklers, bubbles, everyone cheering, or the sigh of relief when you two get in the car. Either way, they all make up the grand exit.
