Senior Photo Session Options – Houston Senior Portraits

If you’re trying to decide how much time or which one to choose, you’re in the right place. I’m going to try my best to help you figure out which session would be best for you. As an additional note, this is also discussed during your Discovery Call, so if you’re still unsure I’ll help guide you. That’s just one of the perks of working with me.
Senior Photo Session Options
All-Day Senior Photo Session Option
Now, let’s start with the most personalized one for you. An all-day session is an extended session that gives you a lot of flexibility. This Houston senior photo session option caps out at about 3 hours. It’s really “the works”, because we’ll shoot in more than one location and you’ll have several wardrobe changes.
Additionally, it also allows for you to bring extra friends and family members in your session. For instance, your all-day session will be between 2-3 hours long. You should expect to bring between 3-6 outfits for your all-day session.
We’ll start the day out in the studio and then finish it on-location just before sunset so we can get that nice, even light.
Standard Senior Photo Session Option
Next, is a standard session. Standard sessions are up to three hours including the time to apply makeup if you choose the studio as your session location. You’ll need to choose between having your session inside the studio or on-location, outdoors.
With that being said, I recommend bringing at least three outfits, with a fourth outfit being your backup. The biggest difference between standard and all-day sessions, is that if you’d like makeup artistry, it is not included with on-location sessions.
For outdoor sessions, your locations will need to be in close proximity to each other, as travel time will only take away from your session experience resulting in less time to shoot.
However, with standard sessions, you can still choose to share your experience with your friends and family.
Miniature Senior Photo Session Option
Finally, you have miniature session. These are only available during select times of the year and are centered around different ‘themes’. For instance, prom sessions, cap and gown, and college day sessions are just a few examples of what miniature sessions are.
The session will typically be held at a specific location on a designated date, and will run like a marathon event. You’ll be allowed between 1-2 outfits depending on the type of session, but bring an extra one as a backup.
Frankly, this is my recommendation if you just need a couple basic images, or if you’d like specific images in a college day shirt or cap and gown. You’ll receive two high res images with your miniature session with the option to purchase more.
