First off, CONGRATS on making it to your senior year! It’s such a big milestone, and I’m so happy for you. I know you’re anxious to find out how much photographers charge for senior pictures, so let’s go ahead and get started.
Before we begin, I just want to say that every photographer is different. We not only run different business models, but also have different costs, experience, skill levels, equipment etc. With that being said, the numbers will vary drastically but today I’ll cover how much personalized photographers charge for senior pictures in the Houston area.
Premium Senior Photographers
Senior photographers with at least 3+ years of experience who have a low volume of seniors per year, range between $2000-4000 for digital images, the session, and other physical products. For example, some photographers only photograph high school and graduating seniors. These senior photographers take only a limited number of seniors or graduates a year and really focus on an entire experience. Most of the time they’ll even include professional hair and/or makeup artists, in-home consultations, and wall art installation. Nearly everything is customizable and the service is luxury.
Most Standard Senior Photographers
Next, you can expect to spend between $700 to $1800 for mid-range senior pictures. Within this range, you’ll find mid-level service. The primary difference between these photographers is the level of service. With mid-range senior photographers, you’ll receive some personalization when it comes to location options.
In rare cases where the cost of a professional senior photographer exceeds your budget, I would recommend asking your photographer if they offer a payment plan. You shouldn’t expect to spend less than $600 on a standard photo session, for a reputable and professional senior photographer unless the photographer is running a promotion (e.g. mini sessions).
