The Best Indoor Playgrounds and Activities in Houston – Houston Children Photographer

Are you looking for an indoor playground option for your young children? As much as kids love to jump and play at Urban Air, it doesn’t feel like it’s the safest for small kids. Due to the weather, we can’t always go outside to play. Sometimes our children want variety..who doesn’t? Today I’m sharing some of the best indoor playgrounds and activities in Houston, Texas for young children.

Kingwood and Atascocita Playgrounds

Kids in Action

Kids in Action is a locally owned and operated full-service child care facility in the Kingwood area. There are two time options available for classes: one hour and forty-five minutes. Classes are subscription based and there are two free play days during the week, Thursday and Saturday.

If your child isn’t enrolled in a class, don’t sweat it. You can pay $5 cash at check-in per child. A free trial class is also available to give it a test run. If you do sign up and change your mind, cancellation fees may apply.

My Gym

There are a few My Gym Children’s Fitness Centers in the area. One in Atascocita and another in Spring, TX. With a mission to love and nurture through play, My Gym is a clear winner on this list. They offer classes, camp sessions for drop-in care, and so much more.

My Gym is more of a subscription based program. As a member, you also get access to Practice & Play times. A free trial class is available.

Spring and The Woodlands

The Woodlands Church

Open on weekdays completely free to the public, The Woodlands Church features a three-story play structure. I think it’s amazing what they’re doing for the community. For adults, you can sit back while supervising and drink a cup of coffee or enjoy a smoothie. Freshly baked cookies, sandwiches and other healthy snack options are also available for purchase.

Palava

Similar to a Main Event, you can build your own play package at Palava. Some of the activities you can choose from are: laser tag, mini golf, the play structure. There’s also an unlimited package to purchase that includes all three available. Similar to Kanga’s Indoor Playcenter, there is an adult fee as well. On the contrary, you can actually play with your children while there.

What I really love about Palava is the option for adults and older children to join in on the fun. You can even rent the entire play area out with unlimited play per hour at a reasonable price. Although the kitchen would not be available, outside pre-packaged food is allowed.

On the other hand, if you’re wanting an indoor play facility exclusive to younger children, and not wanting to rent the entire space out, other options on the list may be better for you.

Kanga’s Indoor Playcenter in Oak Ridge, TX

One of the first of its kind in the Houston area, Kanga’s Playcenter is a multi-level indoor play facility located in The Woodlands. Kanga’s is best for children younger than 11 years old. The Toddler Spot is a special play area specifically for children 3 years old and younger.Entry fees vary based on the child’s age and there is also a fee for adults, so keep that in mind.

Kidtastic Park in Cypress, TX

Locally owned and operated business by two families in Cypress. They offer unlimited play for children under 10 years old. I love how they offer a special toddler area for young walkers learning how to play.

Wonderwild in The Heights

Enjoy a three-story playscape and ball fun for your little one at Wonderwild in The Heights. I also think the Crazy Bikes track is a wonderful idea! It’s a kid powered bike track on the first floor of the play structure.

Wonderwild offers both open play pricing options (and even multi-day passes) as well as a VIP subscription.

Giggles and Fun in Katy, TX

With two locations in Katy, Giggles and Fun redefines what it means to put health and safety first. They close for an hour to clean and sanitize their facilities. How awesome is that?!

Giggles and Fun also offers a membership option and a sibling discount for weekday play dates. However, open play is available on weekdays and weekends.
