updated 2/26/2023
-When it comes to tying the knot, we Texans take it seriously. There are as many unique venues to choose from as the state itself. Traditional, modern and everything in between. Everything’s bigger in Texas and wedding venues are no different. From rustic ranches, beachfront venues, to secluded getaways, you’re guaranteed to find a venue perfect for your special day in the Lone Star State. In this post, we’ll explore some of the most beautiful Airbnb wedding venues in Texas.
Disclaimer: I strongly urge and recommend you to confirm approval and/or permission to have a wedding with your host prior to booking. NOTE: Previously there were two AirBNB properties mentioned that do not offer weddings. We have removed them from the blog post for transparency.

What You Should Know About Airbnb Weddings
Benefits of Having an Airbnb Wedding
There are several benefits to using Airbnb for your wedding. You can make a reservation online and book your entire wedding at one time, which makes it super convenient! So if you’re a do-it-yourselfer, you can do all of the planning and organizing yourself.
Additionally, as opposed to a traditional wedding venue, most offer outdoor or additional spaces. Which means that for smaller gatherings and celebrations, out of town guests or those heavily involved in setting up can have a place to hang out before and after the event. For example, I’ve had couples rent an Airbnb for both their wedding and their honeymoon.
Bonus benefit: Some Airbnbs can even be more affordable than other wedding venues

Cons of an Airbnb Wedding Venue
One of the main drawbacks is that it’s not always possible to have your wedding at an Airbnb venue. Mostly because not all of them are wedding-friendly. In fact, they may even suspend listings that are advertised as event or wedding friendly. Not only that, but they might not even have enough space to accommodate your guests.
Some Airbnbs are run by families or individuals without wedding or event planning experience. With that being said, there is often a lack of professional staff. Don’t expect a superstar host to be a wedding planner, decorator, or venue manager. Similarly, you’ll be stuck with whatever the property host provides as amenities. Which means covering the costs of decor and rentals for tables, chairs, linens to name a few. Because after all –their property is a house, not a wedding venue.
Above all, if your host does allow weddings or events, you’ll likely be limited on what you can and cannot do. It goes without saying that you should 100% expect lots of restrictions. If not by the host, then by the company.
You’re essentially having a wedding in someone’s house. Fingers crossed your guests won’t trash the place. But in the event they do, know that you’ll be responsible for any damages occurred, and that not all wedding insurance policies cover Airbnb properties.
